Winter Drum Semester Begins!

Summer Session

Heather is looking forward to spending her first summer off in years with baby Ian (and Todd, of course) and Margit & family are moving on June 24th - locally, but still a move that requires planning and packing.

April School Vacation

There will be no classes during the week of April 21-26 to coincide with April school vacation week. A wonderful opportunity for you and your child to listen to the CD and come up with some favorite songs. We'll be interested to hear about all your "musical moments" when we return. Sing with you then...

Paula in Concert!

Music Together of Arlington's own Paula Jordan with family and friends are The Pixie Sticks - they
played to a full house (over 114 people!) on March 29th at the Robbins Library in Arlington.
They had everyone singing all the favorites from "Wheels on the bus" and "John the Rabbit" to "Twist
and Shout". Among their many instruments, they play guitar, mandolin, auto-harp, bass and the coconuts! Paula's mother-in-law, Barbara, is in the band playing percussion. Come see them at their next local shows.

A benefit for Kids' Coop Cambridge, Sat. April 19, 11am at St James Church, 1991 Mass Ave Cambridge
MA ($5/person, $15/family, under 1 free)
and Tues. April 22nd, 11am at the West Somerville Branch Library on College Ave in Davis Square (free).

Before our spring semester begins we will be holding two 45-minute demonstration classes. These clasess will be held at Rocky DiRico's Karate Studio in Arlington on Wednesday February 20 at 9:30 am and a second class at 10:30 am. Welcome Baby Ian!

Ian James Mansfield was born on Friday, August 24. Mom, Dad and baby are finally home, exhasusted but doing very well. Please know that correspondence with families at this time may be a bit delayed due to the demands of new motherhood. Fall registration is still open and the classes/registration page will be updated soon with information on which class days/times are available (some may be full but not noted at this time). Please make sure to choose two class choices when registering online just in case your first choice of class may not be available. Welcome Laura!

Sending out a warm welcome to our new teacher, Laura Bak! Laura recently taught Music Together in Seattle and has moved to our area (see teacher link). She brings with her past Music Together experience, fine musical skills (including guitar accompaniment) and lots of genuine enthusiasm. Laura has been a substitute this past spring and will also be active in our upcoming summer program. She begins teaching this fall with Margit. I'll be on maternity leave but am truly grateful to have both Margit and Laura on board, they are wonderful! Again, WELCOME LAURA!

Welcome Margit!

I am pleased to announce our newest addition to our teaching staff, Margit Griffith! Margit brings her love of children, infectious enthusiasm and musicianship to us this fall when she will begin teaching. She completed a one-semester internship and Music Together teacher training this past spring (see teacher bios for more info). I am sure she will enjoy every success!

Monday Make-Up Class

Due to this past class cancellation on Monday 2/13 we are offering a make-up class Monday, February 20th (President's Day). This class is being held for Monday students ONLY. Please feel free to bring any older siblings with you seeing as it is their school vacation. If you cannot attend then you may schedule a make-up during this semester. There will be no classes held for the remainder of the week due to school vacation. Enjoy!

Please note that registration for all families has begun! Our upcoming semster has some changes. We have added a Tuesday and a 3-4 year old class as well. Also, due to my upcoming wedding in early June our semester will run for 15 weeks (as opposed to the regular 10 weeks). This will be a combined winter/spring session. We are well into our fall session and I am in the process of making our upcoming schedule for the winter. Due to my upcoming WEDDING in June 2005 I will offer a 15 week semester for winter/spring 2005. It will begin the second week of January and run through mid-May.
